So if you make a claim for personal injury for an accident that was not your fault then as a result your solicitor will notify the Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU) as part of your claim, the CRU will attempt to recover certain costs agianst the offending side (see https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/cru ) So if you are one of those good old Brits with a stiff upper lip who dont believe in perpetrating the 'compensation culture' then consider (if you were injured) the loss to the poor old underfunded NHS by you not making a claim, regardless of the ammount of compensation you might get awarded (and for that see our page on whats my injury worth here) then you are doing your little bit to help our NHS.
